On December 12, 2019, the School of Decision Sciences at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong hosted a media luncheon titled “困難重重:香港物流能否走進大灣區 (Challenges Ahead: Hong Kong Logistics’ Path to the Greater Bay Area).”

During the event, the research team from the School of Decision Sciences and the Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain presented their latest findings on several topics, including port collaboration, cross-border logistics, cold chain logistics, and single window systems within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Their research highlighted that the nine mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area have already implemented single window systems, while Hong Kong is scheduled to implement its system in 2024. The team emphasized the need for Hong Kong to accelerate the rollout of its single window system and enhance coordination and integration with the systems of the nine mainland cities to facilitate trade more effectively.
The event was honored to welcome Mr. Ken Chung, Chairman of the Chamber of Hong Kong Logistics Industry Ltd. (CHKLI), and Ir. Elsa Yuen May Yee, President of the Hong Kong Logistics Association.

Mr. Chung and Ir. Yuen provided valuable industry perspectives on several topics, including preferential subsidies for mainland terminals and freight operations via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
